The fist bump
by Fr. Jeff
“Ya’ll do that again!”
We were standing under a breezeway in Lake Arthur having just finished a prayer service for people who had experienced death, separation, or divorce in their marriage. One of the new baptist preachers in town and I had just bumped fists.
Our conversation focused on Your words:
The harvest is abundant, but the laborers are few. –Matthew 9:37
He’s 32. I’m 27. We both want to work in the vineyard. We both want to bring people to You.
Our jovial exchange caught everyone off guard, but they were happy to see how closely we are willing to work together. Perhaps we discovered a tool for the new evangelization,
the fist bump.
